Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) is a fish found on the Mediterranean and on the northeast Atlantic coast. Sea bass and sea bream, both for nutritional value, belong to the sought after Mediterranean fish as they are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
The sea bass is considered to be a fine fish in Greek cuisine, also used for in the couisine of other nations. It can be cooked in many ways, e.g. grilled, steamed, baked, etc.
The sea bass is typically 40 to 65 centimeters long and weighs 5 to 7 pounds. Its body is elongated. The name (Dicentrarchus) has to do with the presence of two dorsal fins, the anterior triangular and the posterior trapezoidal . Red Porgy (Pagrus pagrus) is a saltwater fish belonging to the Sparidae family. The red porgy can reach 8 to 9 kilograms in weight and 90 centimeters in length. Its color is golden red. The red porgy lives near the bottom, in open waters on rocky or sandy seabed. We find it in depth from 30 to 250 meters. It is found across the Mediterranean Sea, on the northern and southeastern coasts of the Atlantic Ocean, but also in the western Atlantic.
Meagre (Argyrosomus regius) is a very interesting species for cultivation. Meagre is multiplied by the number of species already farmed. It reaches a large size over 2 years (1.5-2 Kg) giving the opportunity to produce value-added products (e.g. fillets). Also its relatively low fat content allows the targeting of different markets from these of sea bream and sea bass, which today appear to be saturated. (source Wikipedia)

The greater amberjack (Seriola dumerilli) is a fish found in many seas. He is a prolific hunter and regulator of the ecosystem of the seas in which he is moving, provided that human intervention has left this possibility and has not eliminated it either because of its over-fishing or seawater contamination. The body of the greater amberjack is spindle-shaped and we could call it a torpedo. It has relatively flat sides. His head has an intense curvature.
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has advised that “Taking 250mg of EPA and DHA a day as part of a balanced diet helps maintain normal heart function, 2g EPA and DHA intake per day contributes to maintaining normal triglyceride levels in the blood and 3g of EPA and DHA per day contribute to maintaining normal blood pressure. “EFSA Journal 2009; 7 (9): 1263 – EFSA Journal 2010; 8 (10): 1796.
Aquaculture fish is a nutriment rich in ω-3 fatty acids and their consumption, twice a week as part of a balanced diet, helps to maintain normal heart function.
